Where was that screen again? Ritzy ERP is ten licensed modules on one accounting core, and a company running several of them has hundreds of screens between them. The menu down the side is tidy, but it only shows one module at a time, and finding a screen you use once a month means remembering which module it lives in and which group it sits under.
This release adds a menu search to the top bar of the web app.
Ctrl+K, a Few Letters, Enter
Press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac) on any screen, or click Search menu in the top bar. Type part of a screen’s name — holi, receipt, trial — and the matches appear as you type, each with the module and group it belongs to, so two screens with the same name in different modules are never confused. Arrow to the one you want and press Enter.
The words can come in any order and can include the module: estate receipt finds Real Estate’s receipts rather than Accounts’. Capitals and accents don’t matter. Reports are included, as well as the administration screens under Tools.
Open the search without typing and it lists the screens you most recently opened from it, so the ones you keep coming back to are one keystroke away.
Only What You Can Open
The search reads the same menu as the side bar, which Ritzy builds for each user from the modules your company is licensed for and the rights that user has been given. So it never offers a screen someone cannot open, and an administrator does not have to set anything up: give a person a screen, and it is in their search.
Out of the Way on a Small Screen
On a laptop or a narrow window the box shrinks to a search icon, so the module tabs across the top keep their room. Ctrl+K works the same either way.
How You Get It
Menu search is part of the latest Ritzy ERP web release, with nothing to switch on. If you would like to see it on your own data, get in touch.
