Ritzy 8.0: Web Browser Access, Transaction Bookmarks & Open Recent Items

Ritzy 8.0 is our biggest release in years. Every Ritzy product — Shipping, Real Estate, Comfort and Accounts — has been re-engineered on a modern data engine for speed and reliability, and now runs right in a web browser as well as on the desktop. On top of that foundation, 8.0 adds a set of everyday productivity features that make finding and returning to your work faster: transaction bookmarks, an Open Recent Items panel, and real-time notifications with online presence.

The screens and workflows you already know are unchanged — everything just opens faster, saves more reliably, and is now reachable from anywhere.

Run Ritzy in Your Web Browser

Ritzy 8.0 can run in a standard web browser and over the cloud, so your team can work from anywhere — not just from a machine with the desktop client installed.

• Day-to-day data entry, search and document attachments all work in the browser version.
• Deploy on-premise for full control, or to AWS or Azure for secure remote access from Windows, Mac, iOS or Android.
• The same data, the same screens — whether staff are at their desk, at a site, or on the road.

The advantage: remote and multi-branch teams get the full Ritzy experience without VPNs or installs on every device.

Faster and More Reliable for Multiple Users

Under the hood, Ritzy now runs on a modern database engine. The practical result is a system that holds up far better when many people work at once.

• Fewer locks and deadlocks when several users save transactions or open reports at the same time.
• Voucher and job entry screens save the header and all their detail lines atomically — a transaction either fully saves or not at all, with no half-written records and no voucher-number gaps.
• Key reports — Trial Balance, Ledger, Statement of Account, Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet — open noticeably faster.

The advantage: busy, multi-user offices spend less time waiting and re-trying, and more time getting work done.

Transaction Bookmarks

You can now bookmark the transactions you come back to most — and pull them up in a couple of clicks. Bookmarks live right in the transaction search window, so they work across vouchers, invoices, jobs and more.

• Select a transaction and click Bookmark to flag it, or Remove Bookmark to clear it.
• Tick Bookmarked only to filter the list down to just your bookmarks.
• Bookmarked transactions are highlighted in the list, so they are easy to spot.
• Bookmarks are saved separately for each user — your shortlist is yours.

The advantage: the handful of jobs, contracts or vouchers you are actively working on are always one tick away — no scrolling, no remembering numbers.

Open Recent Items

The Home page now keeps a personal Open Recent Items list, so you can pick up exactly where you left off.

• Reopen a recent transaction or screen with a single click.
• Pin the entries you want to keep, remove the ones you don't, and the rest reorder automatically based on how often you use them.
• The transaction title now also appears correctly at the top of a form when it is opened this way.

The advantage: your most-used screens collect themselves on the Home page, ready the moment you log in.

Real-Time Notifications & Online Presence

Ritzy 8.0 keeps your team connected without anyone restarting the application.

• User notifications — send a pop-up message to other logged-in users, with an automatic read receipt back to the sender.
• Online presence — see at a glance who is currently connected.
• Daily alert rules for overdue items (such as invoices, payments and post-dated cheques) reach the right people automatically, once per day.

The advantage: the people who need to know find out in real time — straight inside Ritzy.

Email Setup Improvements

Sending documents and statements by email is now easier to set up and more secure. Ritzy supports modern secure connections, with a separate security option and a Send Test Email button so you can confirm your settings in one click.

Fixes and Refinements

Alongside the headline features, 8.0 includes a wide range of accuracy, reliability and performance improvements across posting, allocation, statements, reports and printing, plus numerous smaller usability touches throughout the system.
